Steve Huff has been involved in motorcycle racing and development for many years. A former car racer, he got excited watching Top Fuel Harley racing and told Carmen Tom long time member of the Jolly Rogers Motorcycle Club and then owner of Downtown Harley, he wanted to race too, so Downtown Harley sponsored him.

He drag raced nitro Harleys and competed for speed records at Bonneville for 7 years, winning national championships and setting world speed records, aided by sponsorships from Harley Davidson and Destination Harley and former member Danny Anderson also a member of the Jolly Rogers Motorcycle Club.

He was brought to working with Harleys by the engineering challenges in their engines which lacked development, performing R&D with S&S for 7 years, aided by his formal education: Mechanical Engineering from the Phoenix Institute of Technology.

His drag racing stopped 3½ years ago when he broke his foot, so he decided to open his present shop and continue to race yearly at Bonneville.

One of his accomplishments included prompting a rule change at Bonneville as the result of his innovative streamlined helmet design shown. With it, wind tests showed a 27% reduction in wind drag.

In his shop he brings improvements developed in racing for street use to aid performance and reliability.
